Twenty Two Weeks – Five Months

Luna is officially five calendar months now. Almost half a year old! And this is my last week of maternity leave before I return to work, part time. I have had so much fun with her over the last five months and I get quite sad thinking that it’s kind of like living in a bubble and it’s ending soon. But I will still have four days out of seven, all day with Luna, and with the nursery next door, it couldn’t be better.

This week we have attended all our usual classes: swimming, baby yoga, Mums Bums and Tums, and Daisy Tinies. It’s funny thinking back to how small she was when we started all the classes compared to how big she is now. She is actually a bit more interested in what is going on and wants to join in properly.

At the weekend, Dave and I went to see Fantastic Beasts which I have been looking forward to for about three years since it was announced that they were making a Harry Potter universe film. I can remember over a year ago when I found out that I was pregnant, asking Dave’s mum if she could babysit on the 18th November 2016 because that’s when it would be released. I left some expressed milk and a sippy cup but as usual Luna slept the whole time.

Keeping with the Harry Potter theme, on Tuesday, Dave managed to get us Cursed Child tickets for December 2017 – something that, again, I have been looking forward to since forever. The date the first batch of tickets was released was the day I found out I was pregnant so I was a bit preoccupied but the next day I was gutted I’d missed out. So this time I was determined to get tickets. I clicked on at exactly 11am but was number 22000 in the queue and an hour later I had moved just 2000 spaces. Then the magic email noise went off on my phone and Dave had forwarded me his booking. I’m ecstatic and cannot wait. Luna will be 18months by then, so toddling and saying the odd word which is exciting.

Luna has come to work with my twice this week: once because I was picking up Dave from Bristol so popped into the office for an hour to say hi, and once, the next day because I was going to work leaving drinks. I planned to drop Luna off to Dave who was in Bristol, but they ended up coming along to, so Luna had a night out in Cosy Club.

I’ve also picked up Luna’s pottery hand and foot prints and they look so good! I can’t wait to wrap them up as Christmas presents. And i’ve still stuck with my idea to print Luna’s footprint every month to see her feet growing, and I’ve finally found the perfect huge frame to put them all in.
